It's a wild world
The Mudumalai Wildlife Reserve is a continuation of the Bandipur National Park. Although it is known as a tiger reserve, it's almost impossible to spot a tiger, unless you're staying at one of the guest houses for a few days and doing an elephant safari. Like all wildlife sanctuaries, an elephant safari is the best way to spot animals, as tigers usually don't come out when there are vehicles around.
I took the bus and managed to spot some peacock, some spotted deer, bison and the elephant, which was the safari elephant. Also, Ooty and Coonoor are known to be bison land, so it's always easy to spot bison grazing in the area
